Our past op shop trips to Petone have been a lot of fun so Marcia and I are offering the trip again 
on Thursday 7 March. Petone must surely deserve the title of New Zealand's op shop capital so 
you're sure to find a bargain for yourself, family or friends. Or come just for a social outing. You're 
sure to have a good time. 
We’ll take the 9.44 Porirua train to Wellington Railway station and then a bus that will drop us off 
along Jackson Street in Petone. The bus trip takes around 20 minutes. We plan to visit 5 charity 
shops, all close to one another: Red Cross, SPCA, City Mission, Te Omanga and HUHA (Helping You 
Help Animals).
After perhaps an hour or so we’ll meet at a Petone cafe for a cuppa together before taking a bus
back to Wellington Railway Station. We should be back in Wellington between 1 and 1.30. It
might be wise to bring a trundler to transport the items you buy, or a back-pack.
